The Athletic Association's philosophy is an extension of the school's philosophy aimed primarily at the development of the student's physical skills, teamwork, sportsmanship and Christian attitudes on and off the field of competition. There have never been tryouts for teams or squads. Every student will be given the opportunity to play.
Eligibility Sports are offered to enrich and compliment a student's education. There are no tryouts. Every student in the eligible class who wants to participate will be given the opportunity. A student will be considered eligible to participate unless he or she recieves an interim grade (per school's schedule) of one F, in any of the core subjects. Students must also average a "satisfactory" in conduct and effort in all subject areas. If the student is ineligible by the above standards, he or she cannot play in a game but may be allowed to practice with the team. This is at the discretion of the parents. Eligibility will be reevaluated in accordance with school policy. Eligibility status will be given to the athletic director, who will communicate it to the respective coach. The student's parents will receive information from the school office.
Northwestern Suburban Catholic Conference St. John is a member of and follows the rules of the Northwest Suburban Catholic Conference. We compete with the following parochial schools: St.
Margaret Mary, Algonquin In addition to the above schools, there is competition with other schools during tournament play. |
